The Decorators & Designers Association of Canada (DDA Canada) is a professional association that aims to elevate the decorating and design industry through various initiatives such as education, events, training, advocacy, and community building.

The association was formed in 1992 by a group of six soon-to-be graduates from Seneca’s interior decorating program who realized they were about to lose their professional network. They quickly established a community for decorators, and within 18 months, the group grew to 125 members.

In 1994, the association was officially incorporated as the Certified Decorators’ Association (CDECA). As a not-for-profit organization, CDECA’s mission is to provide continuing education opportunities, foster collaboration among professionals, establish a code of conduct, and reach out to students in the decorating and design field.

Over the years, DDA Canada has been actively involved in promoting the decorating and design industry, advocating for its members, and providing valuable resources and networking opportunities. The association remains committed to supporting the professional growth and development of its members and promoting excellence in the field of decorating and design across Canada.
