Gabriel Fain Architects is a young and energetic multi-disciplinary design office that specializes in architecture and urbanism. With a focus on mid-rise and high-rise residential buildings, including rental housing, affordable housing, and condo buildings, the firm is committed to using technologies of mass-timber construction and other ecological approaches to achieve net-zero energy performance by 2030.

The firm’s projects are strategically focused on addressing Toronto’s housing crisis, particularly in the “missing middle” segment. This includes infill projects that aim to fit modestly sized buildings within established neighborhoods, as well as pioneering the typology of laneway housing with completed projects around the city. Additionally, Gabriel Fain Architects has undertaken large-scale urban developments throughout the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), including a one million square foot urban mixed-use commercial office complex with a focus on health and wellbeing.

Led by Principal Architect Gabriel Fain, who is a licensed Architect with the Ontario Association of Architects and holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Toronto, the firm has a strong commitment to design excellence. Gabriel Fain is also actively involved in the academic community, serving as a guest critic at the Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Design, and contributing to Canadian Architect Magazine. The office has been featured in several publications, including Azure, Designlines Magazine, and the Globe and Mail.

With a focus on utilizing advanced building information modeling (BIM) tools, including Revit 2022, Gabriel Fain Architects has the capability to provide detailed interior design, 3D concepts, building permit, tender, and construction drawings. The firm’s expertise in BIM allows for seamless coordination with consultants, enabling efficient and effective project management and delivery.
