Laurence is not only a lawyer, but also has a strong personal interest in the real estate industry, stemming from her family’s entrepreneurial background. Her paternal grandfather was a successful cabinet maker, while her maternal grandfather was an electrical engineer who owned a real estate management company called Société Dupa, which has provided employment for three generations of Dutils.
After obtaining her LL.B. from Université Laval in Quebec City and completing an exchange program at Dalhousie University’s Faculty of Law in Nova Scotia, Laurence pursued a Master of Arts in World History & Cultures from King’s College London in the UK. She is currently completing her LL.M. in Canadian Common Law at Osgoode Hall in Toronto.
Laurence has had law-related in-house positions in the parapublic sector within Ontario’s francophone community, including at the Université de l’Ontario français, before moving on to private practice as an associate at The Six Law Group, where she specialized in real estate law.
In addition to her legal work, Laurence enjoys home renovation projects and has a keen interest in history and the preservation of old homes. In 2022, she launched her own practice and offers services in both official languages of Canada, English and French.
