KPMB (Kuwabara Payne McKenna Blumberg) is a renowned architectural practice established in 1987, based in Canada. With a wide range of projects, KPMB has earned over 400 prestigious awards, including 18 Governor General’s Medals, which are Canada’s highest honor in architecture. The founding partners, Bruce Kuwabara, Marianne McKenna, and Shirley Blumberg, have all been awarded the Order of Canada for their personal achievements and the collective contributions of KPMB to improving people’s lives through the built environment.

As a full-service practice, KPMB offers expertise in building design, interior design, master planning, workplace strategy, project management, stakeholder engagement, and sustainable design. They have successfully designed and delivered projects totaling more than 31 million square feet in various sectors, including education, healthcare, scientific research, arts and culture, government, corporate, hospitality, recreation, and mixed-use development.

With a team of over 150 professionals, KPMB is highly collaborative, forming interdisciplinary teams to develop innovative and regenerative design solutions that meet their clients’ needs and address the major challenges of our time, such as the impact of climate change and the quest for reconciliation in Indigenous communities. In 2015, KPMB founded the KPMB LAB, which serves as an incubator of ideas, skills, and services aimed at solving important problems and exploring new opportunities through collaborative innovation.
