Legge & Legge is a law firm founded by Laura Louise Legge and her husband Bruce Jarvis Legge. Laura was born on January 27, 1923, and grew up on a dairy farm near Courtland, Ontario. She was an exceptional student and graduated at the top of her class at Tillsonburg High School in 1939. She was offered a full scholarship to Medical School at the University of Western Ontario but decided to pursue an Honours B.A. in History at UWO instead.

After graduating, Laura entered the Toronto General Hospital School for Nurses in 1942 and was awarded the Gold Medal upon graduation in 1945. She then pursued a law degree at Osgoode Hall while also practicing nursing. Laura is believed to be the first woman lawyer in Canada to have had a prior professional license, which is a remarkable achievement. The story of Legge & Legge is a testament to the hard work and dedication of its founders.
