Paul Casuccio is a highly respected expert in the field of global commodity tax and VAT, and he leads his firm’s Global Commodity Tax & VAT practice group. With a focus exclusively on this area, Paul provides practical solutions to clients’ indirect tax questions, issues, problems, and structures.

He is recognized as an authority on Canada’s goods and services tax and harmonized sales tax (GST/HST), provincial sales taxes, employer health tax, land transfer taxes, as well as fuel, carbon, alcohol, tobacco, and other indirect taxes.

Paul assists clients with indirect tax planning and facilitates business asset acquisitions, cross-border transactions, outsourcing arrangements, Canadian start-ups, and reorganizations. He has developed particular expertise in the complicated and constantly evolving GST/HST rules facing financial institutions.
