George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg founded their studio in 1980 with a focus on interior design, and since then, it has grown into a multidisciplinary practice that addresses various layers of human experience. With offices in New York and Toronto, and a team of over a hundred creatives and professionals, they design buildings, interiors, landscapes, lighting, furniture, objects, and graphics with a deep emphasis on how they make people feel, rather than just how they look.
Throughout their illustrious career, the studio and its founders have received numerous honors, including being appointed Officers of the Order of Canada and being inducted into the Interior Design Hall of Fame. They have also been recognized as one of the world’s most influential design studios by esteemed publications such as Wallpaper*, Elle Decor, Hospitality Design, and the Business of Fashion. However, awards and accolades are not their primary concern. They are always focused on what’s next, constantly searching for new and innovative approaches to conceive memorable experiences for the future.
As a design studio, their clients include leading hotel and resort brands, developers, retailers, restaurateurs, manufacturers, entrepreneurs, and creative individuals who aspire to stand apart from the crowd. They approach each project with an accessible, collaborative mindset, and believe in dreaming big and overcoming obstacles to arrive at fresh new solutions. Attention to detail is paramount to their design process, regardless of the scale of the project, from tabletop objects to expansive new developments.
Yabu Pushelberg actively seeks partners who share their passion for pushing boundaries and exceeding previous standards. They believe in designing the world they want to live in, and strive to make a positive impact through their work. Their approachable, collaborative and forward-thinking mindset sets them apart in the world of design, as they continue to create spaces, products, and experiences that are innovative, memorable, and inspiring.
